Hi! I’m Sophie <3
I’m a singer songwriter who is currently teaching herself how to record and produce music.
I’ve been writing songs as long as I can remember. I used to sit in my room as a kid and just sing about whatever was on my mind – making up the lyrics as I went along. When I was about 10, I started writing them down and when I was 12, I started guitar lessons so I could accompany myself. And now, age 18, I have a folder overflowing with songs and a journal fat with ideas.
My dream is to have a fanbase – no matter how small – who I can share all these songs with. I’m determined to learn how to make my music MY way, and to get my name out there. I want to make that little girl who loved singing in her bedroom proud.
I want to write on here about things that helped me and I think may help others. I grew up with ADHD and only got diagnosed when I was 16 – practically out of education. I always asked why I wasn’t good at things that others were, but never realised that where I had weaknesses that my peers didn’t, I also had strengths that they didn’t.
Mental health is important to me and I’ve learnt a lot about myself and how my brain works and I think it’s important for everyone to learn that. I don’t want you to feel limited by what life throws at you or by the brain you have. People who have known struggle are the most resilient. IF you push through. I hope that my journey to success can inspire people – that’s really all I’ve ever wanted.
